This year, Burns & Burns Insurance is announcing their 80th anniversary as a full-service independent insurance agency. The past 80 years have been filled with providing their customers with exceptional service for all of their insurance needs!
It started back in 1939 when founder Henry Burns made the change from high school principal to insurance agent. Although this change was seemingly drastic from his previous track, Henry was determined to make Burns and Burns Associates, Inc. successful. He associated with a personal lines company and began to write auto and property policies out of his home office in the evenings after school. In 1948, Henry retired from education and continued into insurance full-time with a brick and mortar office location, “Clarion Insurance Services”. At that time, Clarion was the heart of this area making it the ideal place to headquarter his business. Since then, Burns & Burns has extended its reach around Northwestern Pennsylvania and currently has nine branches, located in Clarion, Bradford, Clearfield, Erie, Meadville, Mercer, New Wilmington, Tionesta, and Warren.
