Press Release: Burns Family Represents 3 Generations of United Way Ambassadors

By November 24, 2020No Comments

Gene, Scott, and Alexis Burns will represent 3 generations as United Way of Clarion County’s Campaign Ambassadors!

Since its inception, almost 50 years ago, the Burns family has been an integral part of the United Way. Gene played a huge role in launching the organization that would become United Way of Clarion County in 1971. He attributes his passion for being active and involved in the community, giving back to causes he cares about, and supporting local charities, to his father.

For Scott, supporting United Way is an effective business tool. “As an individual or as an owner of a business, we just don’t have the time or resources to understand all the needs and requests that come our way. Donating through the United Way allows us to do that.”

Alexis said, “I Live United because it is ingrained in my DNA. It has been instilled in me at a young age that it is much more rewarding to give rather than receive.”

Philanthropy isn’t just a family tradition for the Burns. It spills into their professional lives as well. Burns & Burns Insurance’s 9 locations throughout western Pennsylvania offer their employees opportunities to volunteer, match charitable donations, and run a workplace giving campaigns.
Thank you Gene, Scott, Alexis and the rest of the Burns family for showing what it means to LIVE UNITED!
